The Moto Social Munich – Community, motorcycles and good vibes

The Moto Social is far more than just a simple motorcycle event – it's a global gathering for everyone who loves community and wants to meet new people. Founded in Toronto, Canada, in 2013, The Moto Social has evolved into a worldwide movement. The initiative was launched in Munich four years ago by Matthias from Bad & Bold and has enjoyed growing popularity ever since.

The vision of The Moto Social

The goal of The Moto Social is to connect people, create new friendships, and strengthen local communities. The event is deliberately aimed not only at motorcyclists, but at anyone who wants to have a good time together. Under the motto "Everyone's welcome. Everyone's invited. Bike or no bike. Good vibes only," motorcycle enthusiasts and interested parties from around the world meet regularly in a relaxed atmosphere.

The founding couple – Viktor and Sam

The Moto Social was founded by Viktor and Sam Radics, a Toronto couple passionate about motorcycles and connecting people. Hungarian immigrant Viktor was looking for like-minded people in his new hometown, but didn't know where to start. So the idea of creating his own meetup was born. Their motivation was to create an inclusive, positive, and communal atmosphere where people could come together regardless of their background. Their goal was clear from the start: "Strengthen community through motorcycles and support local cultures."

Where does The Moto Social take place?

What began as a small gathering in Toronto has now spread to numerous cities around the world. Currently, The Moto Social takes place in 25 cities in seven different countries, including Cape Town, Hamburg, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Auckland, Budapest, and, of course, Munich.

The Munich team – who is behind it?

Behind Munich's The Moto Social, alongside founder Matthias, are Carina Höfler (host), Jörg Janda (photographer), and Nicolas Martin (social media). In 2025, the Munich lead team gained additional support with Anne Westerkamp as a new host. Together, they organize monthly meetings every year, usually on the first Tuesday from May to September. In 2025, the season in Munich starts even earlier, on April 1st! Additional helpers are always welcome and can contact the hosts directly at any time.

The special challenges of location search

Finding a suitable location is a constant challenge for the Munich team. They need to find sufficient parking for motorcycles within sight, while also choosing a location that's flexible enough to accommodate spontaneous attendance—because The Moto Social doesn't require reservations or a minimum consumption requirement. All participants pay for their own drinks and food. Furthermore, the location must offer both an outdoor gathering and an indoor option in case of inclement weather.

Despite these hurdles, the Munich team always manages to put together a good mix of recurring "regular haunts" and new locations.

Munich is growing – over 120 motorcycles in beautiful weather

The meetups in Munich are becoming increasingly popular. Weather permitting, over 120 motorcycles have already been counted, ranging from fully equipped adventure bikes, cafe racers, scramblers, scooters, mopeds, and naked bikes, modified or stock, old or new, everything is there. Everyone who attends The Moto Social Munich experiences an open, friendly atmosphere characterized by mutual respect, enthusiasm, and a large portion of motorcycle passion.
