Begeisternde Erstauflage des MaxlRIDE MOTOFESTIVAL

Exciting first edition of the MaxlRIDE MOTOFESTIVAL

For the first time, we organized a new European motorcycle festival together with the US adventure outfitter Mosko Moto from August 25th to 27th, 2023. The combination of customizers, scramblers, electric and especially adventure and enduro bikes on the grounds of the Maxlrain Castle Brewery in the Rosenheim district hit the right chord with our customers and exhibitors. And that despite the fact that the festival was a real baptism of fire for us due to two storms.

A veritable adventure park for motorcyclists has been built on the 60,000 square meter site of the Maxlrain Castle Brewery. In addition to a dealer mile with over 50 exhibitors, bars, stages and food trucks, numerous manufacturers offered free test drives. Highlights in addition to the test rides, guided rides and lectures were two off-road courses where everyone could perfect their techniques with or without the guidance of the instructors from High Enduro End, and also enduro stars such as Pol Tarrés and Kevin Gallas demonstrated their skills.

Over 3,000 participants from 20 nations celebrated the love of motorcycling under the motto “3 DAYS 2 WHEELS 1 LOVE”

Exhibitors from all over Europe and the main sponsor YAMAHA, as part of the 40 years of Tenere Spirit Camp, ensured a large number of international visitors who enjoyed the Bavarian foothills of the Alps and the Maxlrainer beer. From the start, we wanted a strong national festival that would grow into the adventure and custom bike meeting on mainland Europe in the coming years. All visitors are noticeably united by their passion for motorcycling and adventure.

"We wanted to create exactly such a place, such a weekend, where everyone can live out this passion, meet like-minded people and be inspired by others. And we really succeeded in doing that straight away, it couldn't have gone better," enthuses co-organizer Silke von Mosko Moto.

53 exhibitors, around 50 lectures and over 800 test drives and guided tours

The brand and dealer mile on the Schlosswiese was filled with a variety of people; the lectures and workshops by travelers, photographers and manufacturers on all three days were particularly popular. The test rides from Aprilia, BMW Motorrad, Ineos Grenadier, Triumph Motorcycles, Royal Enfield, Ural Sidecar Motorcycles, YAMAHA and Zero Motorcycles were constantly fully booked. The tours offered by a group of volunteer guides, Ballerrosso and kurvX were already sold out in the run-up to the event. The special feature for the adventure riders were certainly the guided gravel tours over legal roads and paths. For everyone who no longer received a guided tour, over 5,000 km of tour data was made available for their own navigation device.

Neither 35 degree heat nor wind force 12 dampened the mood

The baptism of fire for us began with three days of construction work in temperatures that were sometimes over 35 degrees, which ended with the first storm when everything was finished on Thursday evening. Around 600 meters of construction fencing and 12 exhibitor tents had to be rebuilt or repaired during the night. The second storm on Saturday afternoon became a hurricane with wind speeds of up to 130 km/h and caused the event to be interrupted for an hour. Through intensive coordination in advance with authorities and security forces, the situation was perfectly assessed and more serious damage was prevented. After the storm, the Rock Antenne Band and Jimmy Cornett & The Deadmen really heated things up again; the evening before, Red Stingray from Rosenheim and the newcomer band ROVAR ensured an exuberant but peaceful atmosphere.

An absolutely successful start thanks to everyone involved

“The diverse range of stands, lectures, tours, test drives and training courses combined with the great location and camping opportunities is certainly unique in Bavaria, if not even in Europe,” says Matthias from the online shop badandbold.com, describing the festival concept. Barbara, the managing director of Bad and Bold, adds: "When you look into the shining eyes of the visitors and read the many thank you emails and comments, then you know that the year of preparation and high investment was worth it."

All four of us from Bad & Bold and Mosko Moto are convinced that the MaxlRIDE MOTOFESTIVAL will develop into an absolute enrichment of the adventure and custom scene in Europe in the medium term.

In addition to the four-person organizational team, over 80 volunteers ensured that the first festival ran smoothly. "Without the volunteers, who gave everything with passion, from setting up to dismantling, the implementation of such an event would be unthinkable. We would like to thank them as much as we do." Roel enthuses about Mosko Moto.

Establishment as a high-quality custom and adventure festival is planned

Although the follow-up work for 2023 is taking a long time, the date for 2024 has already been set: the second edition of the MaxlRIDE MOTOFESTIVAL will take place from August 23rd to August 25th, 2024 . Exhibitors and brands can already register for one of the coveted places, and advance sales of visitor tickets, especially for the limited camping spaces, will also begin soon.
